"Open House" Signs
Due
to much confusion regarding placement of open
house realty signs within the Town of Jupiter,
the following information is provided for clarification:
Jupiter
Town code Sec. 27-1771 (j) states that only
one (1) open house sign is permitted on any
street corner at any time. The sign must be
generic in design, it cannot display any business
names or logos, and
there can be only one (1) sign per street corner.
That one (1) generic sign can be used by all
Realtors® and individuals having an open house.
Currently, there appears to be one (1) sign
per residence being placed on the street corners,
which has resulted in a clutter of signs throughout
the community.
Code
Enforcement Officers
MUST
remove all illegal signs they encounter. When
there are numerous signs on any one corner,
and the Officers are unable to determine which
sign was in place first, they are compelled
to remove all the signs.
The
Town Code further states that two (2) off-site
directional real estate signs per residence
shall be permitted during open house sales,
in conformance with standards as written for
permanent and temporary signage. One (1) or
two (2) off-site directional signs shall only
indicate an Open House at without reference
to any associated business.
Code
